Simple, Chic & Oh-So-Pink Nursery

Kids’ rooms are some of my favorites to work on because they’re great spaces to add color, and this lovely, girly nursery is no exception. Pink is the obvious theme here, yet, it’s not overwhelming, obnoxious, or bubblegum feeling. Instead, it’s soft, elegant and sophisticated. As always with my children’s spaces, this room is also a place that Mom and Dad love too. Here are some details…

The decor was kept simple to allow the beautiful, custom woodwork on the walls to take the spotlight. Over 300 feet of trim and molding was used in the small space to create the beautiful, French-inspired paneling that wraps every wall. Limiting the decor on the walls lets the woodwork take center stage and also showcases the lovely blush paint color.

While the space is very much elegant, a lot of the elements here are casual and create a comfortable vibe. We were going for a classy space that still feels relaxing and usable. The linen curtains and their soft, natural wrinkle add a layer of casualness, as does the ultra-comfy, plush rug. Going with a beaded light fixture rather than a chandelier also adds a touch of Bohemian-chicness to the space, and again, points to a more comfortable atmosphere. The crochet ottoman is another Boho touch I love here, especially paired with the vintage-inspired chair.
